Metal Blade Records: "Metal Massacre Volume One" erscheint im April auf Vinyl

Die limitierte "Metal Massacre Volume One"-Neuauflage kam ursprünglich am 14. Juni 1982 raus. Unter metalblade.com/40thanniversary bekommt ihr alle Infos und könnt die Platte auch bestellen. Label-Gründer Brian Slagel erinnert sich noch gut daran, wie der von Lars Ulrich und James Hetfield gemeinsam geschriebene METALLICA-Song 'Hit The Lights' auf der Compilation der noch jungen Plattenfirma landete:

"Als ich die Compilation zusammenstellte, rief Lars mich an. Er jammte mit James und ein paar anderen Jungs in ihrer Garage und spielte Covers von DIAMOND HEAD und so. Lars fragte mich: 'Hey, wenn ich eine Band zusammenstelle und dir einen Originalsong gebe, nimmst du ihn dann auf die Platte?' Und ich sagte, 'Klar, natürlich.' Das war also im Grunde der Anfang von METALLICA."
